Activities: Birding, Cycling, Fishing, Picnicking, Running
Filter:

Located in Cudahy, Sheridan is over a mile in length, standing atop towering bluffs along the shores of Lake Michigan. A serpentine road provides non-motorized access to the water’s edge and a rocky beach. A series of jetties, constructed during the Works Progress Administration (WPA), are intended to control beach erosion.

Situated along the Great Lakes Migratory Bird Route, it is identified by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology eBird.org program as a birding hotspot with 210 species observed during migration and/or the breeding season.

A man-made pond is used for model boating, stocked for fishing and used for ice-skating in the winter.

The paved Oak Leaf Trail runs the length of the park, connecting it with Bay View Park on the north and Warnimont Park on the south. Sheridan is one of the “String of Pearls” along the South Shore of Milwaukee County.

The historic park, established in 1911, offers sprawling green lawns and picnic areas, a pavilion, a deep well pool with pool house, also built by the WPA and on the Registry of Historic Places. Other amenities include two playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts and diamonds for baseball and softball.
