Muskego Park in Muskego
193-acre Muskego Park, purchased in 1958, was the County’s first regional park. A 60-acre woodland of hardwoods has been designated a State Scientific Area. This designation is intended to preserve valuable plant communities, teach conservation practices and study the area’s natural history. Muskego Park is a member of the Old-Growth Forest Network.
Many trails wind through Muskego Park Hardwoods, offering a tranquil atmosphere and home to abundant wildlife, including woodpeckers and rose-breasted grosbeaks. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has identified Muskego Park as an ebird hotspot with 153 species recorded.
There is a campground with 23 individual sites and 2 group sites. There is a pond with a swimming beach, a rent-able bathhouse and an accessible pier for fishing. Amenities include volleyball, archery and four reservable picnic areas with shelters.
