Sledding Hill at Washington Park

Photo essay: Winterfest in Washington Park

Washington Park was buzzing! The weather was beautiful, sunny and not too cold. There was plenty of snow, finally. And the ice was thick and sound on the lagoon. Perfect conditions for the Urban Ecology Center’s annual Winterfest. The event has been popular in the past, but I don’t remember seeing this many people of all ages out enjoying winter in the park. Here are a few photos of the action for your enjoyment.

The skating rink was busy with folks on skates and a few beginners without them testing the ice!

The sledding hill was as crowded as I've ever seen, and as I was leaving more people were streaming into the park.
