Water Spirits Preserve in West Bend
The Big Cedar Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District and Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation’s Water Spirits Preserve is a 101-acre property of gently rolling terrain straddling Hwy 144. It has approximately four miles of hiking trails, forested moraines, picturesque ponds and occasional glimpses of Big Cedar Lake. Leashed dogs are welcome.
The name Water Spirits honors the legacy of indigenous people who lived in the Cedar Lakes region in the 1600s.
There are no amenities, except for occasional benches along the trails.
There is also no sign with the name Water Spirits Preserve. There are signs saying “Big Cedar Lake Trails.”
