UWM at Waukesha Field Station in Oconomowoc
The UWM at Waukesha Field Station is an education and research facility located on a 98-acre property with a restored prairie/oak savannah, a variety of forestland, and an ephemeral pond. Scuppernong Creek runs through it and it has frontage and a boardwalk on Henrietta Lake. There are 3.5 miles of mowed hiking trails, as well as boardwalks over wetland areas.
The Glacial Drumlin Trail and the Ice Age National Scenic Trail run through the property.
Other facilities include a unique wood-fired kiln and the Wildlife in Need Center, a wildlife rehabilitation and education facility, and a farmhouse, barn and outbuildings maintained by a resident manager.
The property is open to the public year-round during daylight hours. No hunting, trapping, or collecting plants is allowed. Dogs must be leashed.
