Trinity Creek Wetland Habitat in Mequon

Activities: Birding, Hiking, Running, Snowshoeing, Wildlife Viewing
Filter:

A 35-acre City of Mequon preserve. Restored stream and wetland system designed to provide floodwater storage, improve water quality, and provide habitat for northern pike spawning. The property also provides invaluable habitat for the nearly 100 species of birds that use this wetland throughout the year. A short loop trail circles a large pond with two islands it it. A beaver lodge is easily visible as is plentiful evidence of beaver activity. The preserve is adjacent to the Ozaukee Interurban Trail (although there is an active rail line in between them.)
