Rawson Park in South Milwaukee
This 29.7-acre Milwaukee County Park includes one of the best remaining examples of Beech-Maple Forest in the Park System. A stop on the Forked Aster Trail system with just under a mile-long trail loop. The greatest diversity of trees, plants, and wildlife are found in the northern half of this woodland. Due to its close proximity to Lake Michigan and the Oak Creek Parkway, this unique park acts as an important stopover for spring and fall migratory birds. Identified by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology eBird.org program as a birding hotspot with 95 species recorded.
The park is located next to South Milwaukee High School, which is also adjacent to the Oak Creek Parkway and Oak Leaf Trail.
