The Mukwonago River Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest straddles the Waukesha and Walworth county line. The 970-acre property, which includes the former Rainbow Springs Golf Course, is situated in the Mukwonago River watershed, an area known for its outstanding resource waters, varied habitats and biological diversity.

 

This park is minimally developed, making it attractive to those who just want to get away from it all. Miles of wide trails lead through woodlands, grasslands, and around lakes and wetlands. Trails are not groomed for cross-country skiing.

 

There are no amenities. No entrance fee or State Parks sticker required.
