Mitchell Park in Brookfield

At 405 acres, this City of Brookfield park has enough room for a plethora of amenities as well as plenty of open natural areas. Approximately 90 of those acres are used for active park facilities. The remaining acreage encompasses a variety of wetland, woodland, and surface water resources within the primary environmental corridor along the main stem of the Fox River. The largely flat terrain has a system of bike and foot paths, which accommodate cross country skiing in the winter. There is a manufactured hill for sledding in the winter. There are access points on the river for canoes or kayaks. Bike paths connect to the Brookfield Greenway Trail System and to Waukesha County’s Fox Brook Park.
Amenities include a multi-purpose area with a large pavilion, a Little League baseball complex, playground, enclosed pet exercise area, and an archery target area.
Mitchell Park is home to the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts, with indoor gallery space, performance space, and the Lynn Chappy ArtsPark, an outdoor sculpture area.
