Havenwoods State Forest in Milwaukee
237 acres of grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, an urban arboretum, and education gardens. Lincoln Creek runs through the property. Trails for nature study, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing (not groomed.) Environmental education center offers nature programs for families, preschoolers, school children, and adults. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash and under control at all times.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s ebird website identifies Havenwoods State Forest as a hotspot with 204 species identified.
No entry fee or sticker is required.
