Woodland panorama in early spring
Located on the shore of Lake Michigan in the Village of Caledonia. 233 acres includes a mix of natural areas—prairie, woodlands and ravine—and amenities. Trails weave throughout the various terrains and are the only way to access the beach on the lake shore.
Wildflowers can be found in the prairie and woodlands, including wood violets, trillium, hepatica, golden seal and wood-betony. Birders may see a wide variety of species, including yellow warbler, gray catbird, brown thrasher, clay-colored sparrow, eastern pewee, robin, wood thrush and red-eyed vireo. Identified as an ebird hotspot with 189 species recorded.
Amenities include a campground, picnic areas, athletic fields, playground, and restrooms.
